The Classic 15-Day Italy Journey

If you are traveling all the way to Italy for our wedding, why not turn it into the trip of a lifetime?

We’ve designed a classic 15-day itinerary that allows you to experience Italy’s history, art, food, and landscapes — finishing in Milan just in time to celebrate with us.

This route is comfortable, well connected by high-speed train, and perfect for a first trip to Italy.

Overview Route

Rome → Naples → Florence → Milan → Venice → Milan (Wedding & Departure)

Days 1–3: Rome

The Eternal City is the perfect place to begin.

Highlights:

  • Colosseum & Roman Forum
  • Vatican Museums & St. Peter’s Basilica
  • Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps
  • Evening walks in Trastevere

Pace: Full but manageable.

What to eat: Pasta carbonara and supplì

Foro Romano

Days 4–5: Naples

Authentic, vibrant, and full of character.

Highlights:

  • Historic center
  • Pompeii archaeological site
  • Optional Amalfi Coast day trip
  • Pizza in its birthplace

Pace: Energetic and flavorful.

What to eat: Pizza and sfogliatella

Days 6–8: Florence

Art, beauty, and Tuscany charm.

Highlights:

  • Florence Cathedral (Duomo)
  • Uffizi Gallery
  • Ponte Vecchio
  • Tuscany wine tour or countryside escape (Chianti hills)

Pace: Balanced with room to slow down.

What to eat: Pappa al pomodoro and Fiorentina, sipping a nice Chianti

Days 9–10: Milan

Modern elegance meets Italian style.

Highlights:

  • Duomo rooftop
  • Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
  • Brera district
  • Navigli and aperitivo culture

Optional: Lake Como day trip.

What to eat: Cotoletta alla milanese and panettone

Day 11: Venice (1 night recommended)

Romantic and unforgettable.

Highlights:

  • St. Mark’s Square
  • Doge’s Palace
  • Gondola ride
  • Sunset through the canals

Tip: Staying one night allows you to enjoy Venice once the day-trippers leave.

What to eat: Cicchetti, sipping Aperol Sritz

Wedding Celebration & Relaxed Days

Return to Milan for:

  • Wedding festivities
  • Shopping & cafés
  • Slow mornings
  • Easy airport departure

Day Trips & Short Escapes from Milan

Milan is perfectly located to explore some of Northern Italy’s most iconic destinations — all easily reachable by train.

Lake Como (Como & Bellagio)

Travel time: approx. 1 hour

  • Stroll through Como’s old town
  • Take a ferry to Bellagio
  • Enjoy lake views, villas, and relaxed lunches

Ideal as a day trip or a romantic overnight stay.

What to eat: gelato walking by the lake

Verona (+ Lake Garda / Sirmione)

Travel time: approx. 1h15

  • Arena di Verona
  • Juliet’s House
  • Charming historic center

What to eat: Our favorite restaurant here is Il pero d’oro, you will have the best gnocchi!

Optional: continue to Sirmione (Lake Garda) for castle views and thermal waters.

Recommended with at least one night to avoid rushing.
